Imagine playing Crysis on your laptop with just a cheap graphics card

With such a heavy market saturation, it’s hard to imagine game consoles may soon be a thing of the past. But a California based company is hoping to make them obsolete with its new OnLive service.

OnLive lets you game on your PC, laptop or even TV without the need for a high end console. The games are played over distant servers and streamed to your home. It’s cloud computing at its best! Since you are using OnLive’s high end servers you don’t need to have the latest and greatest graphics card to play games. The video is simply streamed to your PC or TV.

    The Rebounder makes a comeback

    The Rebounder makes a comeback

Ummmm. Correct me if I’m wrong but haven’t we been through this before? Rebounders are making a comeback? Seriously?

For those of you who are too young to remember, Rebounders made their debut 23 years ago. Think of it as a mini trampoline you work out on. The fad lasted a few years, then people found a new use for their Rebounders, a place to throw their laundry. Apparently we are running out of ideas for fitness fads so we’re bringing back the oldies!

ReboundAir is the latest. The company has brought Al Carter (the original developer of the Rebounder) on board to help sell units. We’re now starting to see infomercials at night talking about how great Rebounders are. Let’s see how long the popularity lasts this time around! What’s next Theighmaster 2.0?

GTA returns to its top down roots

GTA returns to its top down roots

GTA: Chinatown Wars raised some eyebrows when it was announced the series was returning to its roots as a top-down platformer. The look is reminiscent of the first 2 games in the series, but that is where the similarities end. This new entry takes the innovations that the series has been building since taking the world by storm with GTA III and even manages to add some new tweaks. But does this old format do the  GTA series proud?

An eco-friendly way to chill your drinks

An eco-friendly way to chill your drinks

Talk about a conversation piece! Ice cubes made from stone!

Nordic Rock is mined from ancient Swedish pollution-free base rock. Simply throw em in the freezer for an hour or so, remove, then toss them in your drink. Two to three rocks are enough to chill your bevie! The best part is they’re re-usable.

These rock cubes apparently do not leave any sort of taste behind, but we question if they will pick up flavour from your drink or become stained over time. You also have to wonder if your  glasses would become scratched after extended use. But hey, it’s the price you pay for being so cool!

Introducing the "Red Arc of Death"

Introducing the "Red Arc of Death"

Just when you thought Microsoft was out of the woods with its “Red Ring of Death” problem, another issue begins to plague Xbox 360 owners.

According to Joystiq and Google trends, there has been a steady rise in the number of people reporting the so-called E74 error since August of last year.  The seems to be caused by either a faulty AV connector or, more often, a loosened ANA/HANA scaling chip. The result? Visual glitches like random lines on your screen, or a single red arc on your 360. Some are already nicknaming this one the “Red Arc of Death”

So we’ve seen scratched discs, overheating, bad AV connectors…what’s next?

I’ve always been a coffee kind of guy, but after stumbling upon this gadget I may just have to switch to that “other” beverage.

The Sharky tea-infuser is a wild way to steep your tea. Place your tea leaves inside the device and sit back and enjoy the process. Waiting for your tea has never been this much fun. You can use any tea you wish but read tea will of course give the best results.

Sharky was one of the winners of a design competition held by DesignBoom. Hopefully this will actually go into production and hit the market soon!

This picture shows the estimated amount of space debris which orbits earth

This is getting a bit ridiculous. For the second time in a week the crew aboard the International Space Station had to dodge yet another piece of space debris. This time, a chunk of  Chinese rocket about 4 inches in diameter.

To get out of the way, the crew fired the ship’s thrusters to reorient it so it the debris was in front of the orbiter.

“Space debris is becoming an ever-increasing challenge” says flight director Kwatsi Alibaruho. “It’s a big deal. It’s very tiring. Sometimes it’s exhausting.”

  • Stick your finger in this hole and…

Go ahead, stick your finger in the hole.

Yes the Japanese have some weird and wonderful gadgets. This one doesn’t fit into either of those categories…it’s just plain ol’ weird.

It’s called Bandai tuttukibako. The idea is you stick your finger into a plastic box, and an animated character reacts. There are a number of different modes. You can poke a panda, tickle a digi-human’s face, explore a digi-under-sea-world, or touch and feel digi-slime. Uh ya…Not sure about that last one. Oh and if you get bored sticking your finger in the hole you can use it as a clock!

Apparently it’s tough to get your hands on Bandai tuttukibako, as it seems to sell out quickly. You can get your very own for about $40 USD.

  • 3D porn…on your iPhone

3D porn! Now without the glasses!

3D porn! Now without the glasses!

The porn industry has always been known for adopting new technologies first…well chalk up another one! 3D porn is coming (insert joke here) to your iPhone.

Adult Entertainment titan Pink Visual is filming special videos that can be watched in 3D on iPhones that use a special accessory called Wazabee 3DeeShells. They are basically protective skins for your iPhone with a built-in screen. Using these German made cases will allow people to see 3D without wearing special glasses.

“We’re really excited to be working with Spatial View to provide our customers with a new dimension in porn, so to speak,” says Pink Visual product manager Kim Kysar. “Shooting content for 3D is challenging and a bit resource-intensive, but when you look at the final product, it’s easy to see what the current 3D buzz is about. This isn’t like the cheesy, 1970s 3D viewing experience that a lot of us grew up with; this is cutting edge stuff.”

Pink Visual already has sample content uploaded to their site. Something tells us they will be getting a few downloads.
