More Blox to Boom and Bash May 19th
Posted by admin on April 30th, 2009 No comments
Your throwing arm aches in anticipation
Last year’s Boom Blox may not have sold as many copies as publisher EA would have liked, but that didn’t stop them from announcing the sequel, Boom Blox Bash Party, back in January and now heading to stores May 19th.
The original scored well with critics and we at the Crew found it to be a puzzler with depth and challenge. Plus, the multiplayer was fun as hell. The sequel ups the ante with new underwater and zero-gravity levels, new types of Blox to blow up, and more weapons to use.
Intuitive controls on the Wii is a rare thing and Boom Blox did it with style. Check back in a month to get the full review.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 demo out now on PSN
Posted by admin on April 30th, 2009 No comments
More 'What The Hell?' moments await.
PS3 fighting fans take note: download the new Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 demo available on the PSN… now. Xbox 360 users will have to wait to get their hands on the download-only full version this summer. Wii owners will get this… never. It’s just too damn big for the WiiWare service to handle.

Pirates take shelter in Canada, says ESA
Posted by admin on April 30th, 2009 No comments
You know you want that Canadian booty
It seems that Sweden isn’t the only country notorious for protecting swashbucklers. Today, the ESA applauds the fact that Canada has been added to the United States Trade Representative’s watchlist for failing to enforce IP rights and tightening laws.
Canada has been added to the list next to countries such as China, Russia, Thailand and India, among others, for allowing game piracy to flourish north of the 49. Crackdowns in the country started last year to curb the amount of movie piracy leaking from Canada’s borders and it looks like the new U.S. administration isn’t overlooking other forms of entertainment either.

The Pizza Box of the Future
Posted by admin on April 30th, 2009 No commentsHold onto those old pizza boxes! They are about to become collectors’ items! The future of pizza boxes is here!
Eco Incorporated is about to release the Green Box. The top of the pizza box tears apart into four serving plates. Meanwhile the bottom of the box can be turned into a “storage” box, to hold your leftovers. It’s even small enough to fit in your fridge. What a concept!
Witness the future…watch the video.

Celebrity Weigh Scale
Posted by admin on April 30th, 2009 No comments
It’s the scale that doesn’t judge. Instead of telling you how many pounds you weigh, this scale compares you to some of Hollywood’s biggest (and smallest) stars. The scale starts off on the lower end with baby Jesus (celebrity?), and works its way up to King Kong.
Okay it’s not really practical, but it will give you a chuckle.

Induction Charger coming for Wii
Posted by admin on April 30th, 2009 No comments
Changing batteries in your Wiimote can be a pain in the butt. You have to slide off those protective sleeves every time your controller runs out of juice. Well Energizer has come up with a solution, contact-free charging.
The induction Charger will let you charge up to two Wiimotes simultaneously without having to remove their protective silicone cases. The system can be propped up with an included stand or lay flat on any surface. Two built-in LED lights will tell you when your Wiimotes are charged and ready to go!
You will be able to get your hands on the Induction Charging System in May for $49.99.

Scammers use Swine Flu to spread malware
Posted by admin on April 29th, 2009 No comments
Just goes to show you how low scammers will go. Symantec has discovered emails circulating the web containing an attachment titled “Swine influenza frequently asked questions.pdf.â€Â Of course it’s not a PDF file, rather a malicious file known as InfoStealer (which as the name suggestions captures personal info off of your computer).

The REAL cost of the Palm Pre
Posted by admin on April 29th, 2009 No comments
iSupply is at it again. The company has looked into how much it will cost to build Palm’s much touted Pre. Turns out each unit produced will set the company back roughly $138.Since the Pre hasn’t been released yet, it’s pretty hard to break down the details on actual parts. In fact only two parts (Texas Instruments OMAP chip, and Qualcomm’s wireless chip) have been identified. That being said iSuppli has a pretty good track record (having done cost breakdowns a few times before).
The Pre could be make or break Palm. The struggling PDA company has had a rough go of things as of late. It will be interesting to see if the Palm Pre lives up to the hype. The Pre is expected to retail for $299 USD.
