  • Charge Your USB Gadgets In Your Car

Posted by Mike Yawney on May 24th, 2009 View Comments

usb_car_splitter_plugIt’s great to have cigarette lighter sockets, and 12 volt plug-ins in vehicles, but they won’t do you any good if you need to charge a USB device. Santok to the rescue! The company has come up with a gadget that will let you charge all your favorite devices, even if you’re not around a laptop or computer.

The charger plugs right into your cigarette socket and splits the one outlet into 4. You will now have 2 cigarette lighter sockets and 2 USB outlets. Sweet!

Although it appears to be available on Santok’s website, no prices are listed at this time.

  • Disney Working On Robotic Obama

Posted by Mike Yawney on May 23rd, 2009 View Comments

robotic_obamaTechnicians over at Disney have been hard at work creating a life-like robotic Barack Obama, destined for the Hall Of Presidents exhibit at Disney World in Florida.

Obama provided his measurements and voice, Disney did everything else. Apparently Obama likes what he sees. He has reportedly told Disney staff they made him better looking than he really is.

The only part Obama wasn’t keen on was the speech his robotic counterpart is programmed to give. Disney wrote the initial script, but it has since been tweaked by Obama and his White House staffers.

Disney won’t say how much the robotic Obama cost to make. The public will get it’s first glimpse of the robotic Obama July 4th.

    email_n_walk

Trying to text or email while walking down a busy street may not be the smartest idea in the world. That being said, many of us have done it. Well a new iPhone app aims to make that task a little less challenging.

Phase2 Media has just released Email N’ Walk. The app turns on your iPhone’s camera to give you a live view of what’s in front of you. A superimposed text box also appears letting you type while keeping an eye out on the sidewalk.

It’s sad our lives have become so busy we can’t stop for one minute to send a message. Actually we’re just jealous we didn’t think of this idea first. It may only sell for $0.99 but there’s money to be made here!

  • Review: GP2X Wiz

Posted by Mike Yawney on May 21st, 2009 View Comments

gp2x-wizIt’s pretty hard to compete against the Big N when it comes to hand held gaming systems. From the GameBoy to the DSi, Nintendo continues to dominate the hand held gaming market. True Sony has made a dent with the PSP, but it doesn’t come close to what Nintendo has achieved.

Now another player has entered the ring to try and steal a few gamers away from the big guys. GamePark Holdings is trying a different approach, develop a Linux based hand held gaming system to cater to homebrew games and emulation. Can GamePark Holdings (formerly GamePark) carve out its own market with its GP2X Wiz?
