3D movies are all the rage right now. Even DVDs are being sold in stores with 3D extras and features. Too bad you look like a dork watching them…until now!

LazyBone UK is encouraging you to throw out your cardboard 3D glasses and get their stylish glasses instead. The frames are plastic and actually look kind of nice. Well nice compared to those cheap ol’ cardboard specs. Get your own pair for $6.62!

  • Let The In-App Purchases Begin

    gokivo

We’ve now seen our very first App with in-app purchases. Unfortunately it’s pissed off quite a few people who downloaded it.

Gokivo is a turn by turn directions app…for a buck. Sounds like a nice price. At least that’s what people thought when they initially downloaded it. What the developer failed to mention was that you would have to pay $10 a month to actually get directions. Of course this was mentioned after you paid the $1 fee for the initial app.

You know this is only the beginning. How many crippled apps will we see released over the next little while.

Two years ago, a judge found Jammie Thomas-Rasset, a Minnesota mother, guilty of illegally downloading songs from a P2P network. A trial took place and in the end Thomas-Rasset was told she had to pay a $240,000 fine. Shortly after the court called a mistrial. It looked like she was off the hook. Yet two years later she finds herself with an even larger fine.

The case has now come back to court and once again a judge has found Thomas-Rasset guilty. Instead of fining her $10,000 per song like she was last time, the court has upped the fine to $80,000 per track. She now owes a whopping $1.9 million!

The RIAA has told the media it is willing to settle with Thomas-Rasset, but it won’t drop the case altogether. As for the fine, Thomas-Rasset has told media outlets “There’s no way they’re ever going to get that. I’m a mom, limited means, so I’m not going to worry about it now.”

Seriously? $1.9 million? Something is wrong with this picture.

    He's smiling for a reason

Thinking about grabbing a choco bar and a soad-y pop at the airport or train station? Well, you might have to walk a bit further to find one, with reports of a German company installing gold-selling vending machines at over 500 locations.

The gold will be sold at about 30% markup with the prices being updated electronically every few minutes. You have your choice of 1 gram gold wafers for 30 Euros, 30 gram ‘bars’ for 245 Euros and even gold coins for the kiddies.

Thomas Geissler, the vending machine-company owner, said: “German investors have always preferred to hold a lot of personal wealth in gold, for historical reasons. They have twice lost everything.”

In other news, the sound of palm-rubbing from German thieves and hoodlums is deafening.
