Now this is just clever. The Pirate Bay (slated to close within days) is hosting what it calls the $675,000 mixed tape.

You may remember, the RIAA fined Boston University student Joel Tenebaum $675K for downloading and sharing 30 songs online. Tenebaum has taken it to court, creating headlines along the way.

An anonymous user has now posted the audio file on the infamous torrent site and it’s yours for the taking (if you do that sort of stuff).

So what tracks are worth that much cash? Keep reading for the full track list.

Normally when we see something like this we automatically say “it’s clear someone has too much time on their hands.” However, this is just awesome. Someone has taken the original Xbox and made it ultra thin.

The modders in this case took the bulky Xbox and made it only 1 inch thick! It took a whopping 6 months to do it but look at the results. Imagine if they could do this with the 360.

  • Nissan's New Car to Get 367 MPG?

Posted by Mike Yawney on August 15th, 2009 View Comments

NISSAN MOTOR CO., LTD. LEAF ELECTRIC CAR
Oh it’s on! Nissan is pulling out the big guns after GM’s announcement earlier this week that its Volt will get 239 MPG. So what big news did Nissan pull out? Well it claims it’s new car The Leaf will get 367 MPG! Take that GM!

Now here’s what we don’t understand. The Leaf is supposed to get 367 MPG, but it’s 100% electric. There is no gas involved. So how did Nissan come up with the 367 figure? Nissan explained on Twitter that it used a Department of Energy formula to calculate the MPG equivalent as not to confuse consumers. Isn’t that thoughtful.

Of course the Volt and The Leaf are still aways off from hitting the street. Time will tell if these absurd numbers come to fruition.

  • Nintendo's Honeymoon Over?

Posted by Mike Yawney on August 14th, 2009 View Comments

nintendo_wiiAll is not rosy over at the Nintendo camp, at least according to Broadpoint AmTech analyst Ben Schachter. He points out the NDP hardware sales released yesterday were the lowest for the Nintendo Wii since it launched back in November of 2006. Only 252,000 units during July.

So what does this mean? Well in all actuality Nintendo is still sitting mighty fine. Wii Sports Resort is selling just fine and the Wii sits as the 2nd best selling console behind only the Nintendo DS. Yet Schachter quickly pointed out Nintendo will have to make a move soon, adding a price cut is inevitable.

“Although Wii Sports Resort sold well, it appears to have offered little lift to Wii hardware sales, increasing the probability in our view that Nintendo must lower the price soon (we expect a September cut).”

What do you think. Will Nontendo slash the price of its “affordable” console?
