Onlive Cloud Gaming Service Still Alive
Posted by Mike Yawney on September 30th, 2009 No comments
While we haven’t heard much from Onlive lately, the company is still working hard to bring it’s service to the market. The the “cloud-based” gaming service has just secured more funding, this time from AT&T Media Holdings Inc and Lauder Partners.Onlive is staying silent as to how much the funding is worth, but founder and Chief Executive Steve Perlman said it was a “large investment at a large valuation,” especially for a company that is still to take a dollar of revenue.

On the inside, a faster processor, bumped up from 350MHz to 454MHz. An FM radio has also been built into this version. Everything else remains the same. And yes you’ll be happy to know there are still more than 1500 widgets to download to your adorable Chumby.

New Touchscreen Apple TV Remote?
Posted by Mike Yawney on September 29th, 2009 No comments
This is only a rumor at this point, but a beautiful rumor at that. Could this be the new remote that will ship with the relaunched Apple TV? The Boy Genius Report seems to think so.The site’s “source” says this device is a “product mockup that may coincide with the launch of a revised Apple TV.†It appears to be all touchscreen, with Safari web browser option.
Simply a rumor, but The Boy Genius Report is throwing some weight behind it. It reminds us its “source” is the same on that predicted organizable iPhone home screens in iTunes as well as integrated social networking components.
Take it for what it’s worth.

Review: Halo 3 ODST
Posted by Sean Taylor on September 29th, 2009 1 comment
The Halo games have been the flagship franchise for the Xbox family since the first Halo: Combat Evolved shipped way back in 2001. It has been synonymous with high quality production values, quality gameplay and outstanding multiplayer experience. Does Halo 3 ODST manage to live up to its lineage or does it make too many changes and shake up the established formula too much? -

Your Computer Has a Tumor!
Posted by Mike Yawney on September 28th, 2009 No comments
This borders on disturbing. Interactive media artist Mio Lizawa has designed a mechanical tumor for your computer. The lifelike tumor is filled with motors and pneumatic actuators that react to the stress you put on your computer’s processor. The more programs and utilities you run, the more the tumor pulsates and the larger it grows!

Sony Scraps UMD-to-PSP Go Conversion Program
Posted by Mike Yawney on September 28th, 2009 No comments
A while back Sony mentioned it was working on a program where PSP owners who upgraded to a PSP Go would receive digital copies of all the games they purchased, so they could play their old titles on the newer model. Turns out that plan has been scrapped. A SCEA spokesperson has gone on record saying “We were evaluating a UMD conversion program, but due to legal and technical reasons we will not be offering the program at this time.”

Microsoft Launches New Windows 7 Ads
Posted by Mike Yawney on September 27th, 2009 No commentsIt won’t be long before Windows 7 finally hits retail. Microsoft is trying to create some buzz with some funky fresh ads for the new OS. While the ad above doesn’t show a lot of Windows 7 features, it does have some catchy music.
Microsoft also has two other ads promoting the new “Aero Shake” and how easy it is to personalize your PC with Windows 7. Click on the link to see the other ads.
