• Asus Launches Skype Videophone with Touchscreen

Posted by Mike Yawney on September 18th, 2009 View Comments

asus_videophone_touch_aiguru_sv1tWe really liked Asus’s first gen AiGuru Skype Videophone back when it launched last year. In fact the only thing we really didn’t care for the fact it didn’t have a touchscreen. Typing in your SSID and WEP key using arrows and an enter button…not fun. Well Asus has apparently listened!

The company’s new videophone will sport a 7″ touchscreen, to make entering characters much easier. It will also have a tweaked icon based user interface to make full use of the touch capabilities. Oh, and conference calls have also been enabled. How could we forget that.

We’ve been in love since the A-100 model and can’t wait to test out the C-200! While we play around with it, you’ll have to settle for a few unboxing photos to see what you have to look forward to.

Microsoft may have a great device on its hands, but you wouldn’t know it. At least not from the commercial anyways. The first ad has appeared and it doesn’t do much to create buzz for the Zune HD. In fact the commercials for the first Zune were much better.

What do you think? Could Microsoft have done better?

“It’s been terrific. The sales have exceeded our internal expectations. In the first week we’ve sold about 25% of our inventory, and we’ve had tremendous excitement around this game. nedgame_psp_go

Holland’s largest gaming outlet Nedgame claims it will not be selling Sony’s soon to be released PSP Go. The reason? The device will not support UMD. That’s right, the store actually likes the format!

The outlets says the UMDless device means it can not sell games along side the handheld device, and that’s where the company makes most of its cash.

Eurogamer Europe says it too is hearing whispers from outlets claiming they too will boycott the device. Makes you wonder if anyone here in North America
