If Dragon Age: Origins is promising an RPG feast, BioWare and EA are serving Flash appetizers to tide us over until November 3rd.

Dragon Age Journeys, produced by EA 2D, is just the thing to get our collective mouths watering. Not only does it give a taste of the new and original DA:O world, turn based gameplay and inventory system, it also offers achievements in the forms of in-game goodies transferable to your DA:O character via your EA account.

  • Nintendo Profits on the Decline

    nintendo
Nintendo has been hit by a dose of reality. Gamers are sick and tired of shovelware! Reports trickling in now show sales and profits dropped off sharply during the first half of its financial year as demand for the console dropped.

Nintendo sold 5.75 million Wii consoles between April and September, down 43 percent on the same period last year. The Big N has now cut its sales forecast for the period from April 2009 to March 2010 to 20 million consoles because of the poor results. Nintendo had hoped to sell 26 million.

Look what showed up in our office this morning! A mysterious box filled with hay, and other goodies. Upon further investigation we discovered, it was none other than the press pack for Dragon Age : Origins.

Amongst the hay, a small oval wooden box, containing a vial filled with the “blood of the darkspawn”. Also found inside two letters sealed with wax. Check out the contents after the break.

If you’re reading this on a PC, take a look at your keyboard. Pretty nasty, right? Now imagine all the germs you cant see. While Vioguard designed a self-sanitizing keyboard for the medical profession, it doesn’t mean the H1N1-fearing PC gamer can’t take advantage of it.

At the push of a button (or on a schedule), the keyboard retracts into its box and UV rays eradicate all the nasty germs. Vioguard claims it kills “more than 99.9% of harmful microorganisms such as MRSA, mold, and other contaminants within seconds”. Other features include a multi-touch track pad.

  • God Of War 3 Demo Included On District 9 Blu-Ray

Posted by Sean Taylor on October 28th, 2009 No comments

district9_bluray_frontGod knows why Sony won’t release it a week early, but the December 29th release date for the Blu-Ray version of the well-reviewed District 9 will include the early demo for God Of War 3.

Once you’ve finished the demo, an exclusive making-of featurette will show you the behind-the-scenes work for the highly anticipated game. This is also the first time that a game demo has been included with a Blu-Ray movie on a single disc in NA. I’m sure Sony execs are going to be looking through the sell-rates for this pairing, but it should be a home-run as District 9 had a huge opening weekend and great word-of-mouth praise.

Check here for our hands-on inpressions of God Of War 3 from E3!

    See! He's having fun!

While it’s easy to think that, as a parent, you should have any and all freedoms allowed to you to preserve the safety of your child. But when does that overstep the boundaries of personal freedom? Best Buy is offering up a cheap solution to the dilemma of tracking down those rotten little kids, and hey! What are they doing at the arcade? (That’s where kids go these days… right?)

Posted by Mike Yawney on October 28th, 2009 No comments

rallymasterproGame developers are claiming it’s tough to make cash off iPhone titles these days… and Pirates are to blame! Instead of paying for downloads, developers claim users would rather obtain them illegally.

On Monday,  iPhone developer Smells Like Donkey claimed a 80% piracy rate for its latest game Tap Fu. Today Fishlabs is sharing a similar tale. The developer says it tracked UDID’s [unique device identifiers] for the release of its new game Rally Master Pro 3D and found it had a 95% piracy rate, with thousands of copies downloaded illegally on the first day of release.
