Gearbox is on a big bug hunt

We’ve previously reported on the known hiccups that have popped up during the last week or so since Borderlands launched in North America: some people’s PSN lists wouldn’t connect for multiplayer and there have been reports that some trophies and achievements won’t unlock.

But the new glitch that’s lighting up the forums is much more heinous: play online and you could lose all your stats. Yup. That’s why we bolded it.

    iphone-apps

Wow! We knew there are a lot of iPhone apps available for download, but never really thought about just how many there are. Turns out there are now more than 100,000 apps in Apple’s iPhone store! 101,843 apps to be exact…and counting.

Hard to believe only one year ago Apple was bragging about how it had more than 10,000 apps available for the iPhone. How time flies.

We'd be pissed too if we were banned!

Erik Estavillo is heading back to court. You may remember Estavillo is the gamer who tried to sue SCEA last summer for being banned from the Playstation Network. He claimed Sony suppressed his free speech rights and caused him pain and suffering by banning his account on the PlayStation Network after supposedly acting like a jerk off online. The judge threw out the case, but that’s not stopping Estavillo from trying again.

Why is Apple paying millions of dollars out of its own pocket to refurbish a run down subway station in Chicago? It plans on opening an Apple store next door of course! Yes Apple has agreed to pay $4 million to fix up an old station in exchange for a free 10 year lease on an unused bus turnaround dividing the subway station from the Apple store. That unused space will be turned into a landscaped public park.

Of course Apple gets a bit more out of the deal. Take a look at the details spelled out in public records… Read More »

  • Canadians Receive Diminished Xbox Live Beta Experience

    xbox360preview

Being an Xbox gamer in Canada isn’t much different from being an Xbox gamer in the US. Many pre-order bonuses are available in both countries and game release dates are always the same. However, with the latest Xbox Live Update Preview, Canadians are shorted the cooler features. There is no Last.fm here, nor has Netflix been added from the previous update.

There are only three new features available to Canadians: Facebook, Twitter, and Zune Marketplace. Since not everyone has the chance to test out these features yet, we thought we’d give them all a test drive to see how well the new features work on the Xbox 360.

  • Where, Oh Where, Do My WiiWare Points Go?

    nintendo-nes-box

Nintendo is offering a free NES game to anyone who decided that it was worth the $5 to download the Opera Internet Browser offered on the Wii Shop Channel. People who had their console right from the launch didn’t have to pay a cent, but unfortunately I didn’t pick up mine until a couple of months later when they started charging for the Flash-crippled, limited-functionality browser. Either way I don’t regret it… it’s been, by far, the Channel I use the most on the system. And that’s counting the games as well. Yeesh.

So now that we are getting refunded a free NES game… what should I get? I’m already all ‘Punch-Out!!’ed so I’m looking for some suggestions! Do I go with Zelda 2 or maybe jump into some River City Ransom? Classic Mario Bros. or Super Dodge Ball? What’s your favorite old-school NES game of all time?

    goldeneye1

The all-seeing eye of the internet has caught onto a juicy little rumor floating around: there could be a new Goldeneye right around the corner.

For those of us who fondly remember the outstanding gameplay that has yet to be copied properly and the 4-player mayhem that resulted from your nemesis getting to the rocket launcher first, this could be good news.
