Introducing…the PS3 Slim!

What’s slim, light, and matte all over? Why it’s the PS3 Slim! Sony has finally unveiled their poorly kept secret. Heck even K-Mart announced it before Sony!

So what makes this new console different despite being thinner and ligher? The touch sensors are gone, replaced with physical click buttons (power, eject). The piano black glossy finish is also gone. The new console is matte to appeal to a wider casual gaming audience. Sony says it had to completely redesign the interior architecture of the new PS3 system “from the main semiconductors and power supply unit to the cooling mechanism.” The price has also been reduced to $299.

Expect the Playstation 3 Slim to hit stores on September 1st.
