RC Duck Hunt in Your Living Room

Still hanging onto your NES for Duck Hunt? The game still rocks, but a Canadian company (Interactive Toy Concepts) at CES is proudly demoing Duck Hunter Extreme, the second generation of its indoor remote control version of the game that includes an infrared gun and a flying duck for two players in the same room.Attendees at the media launch ducked and covered as one player flew the RC duck and another player shot the orange retro pistol. With each “hit” from the pistol, the duck would perilously lose altitude until after three hits it would drop “dead” from the sky. The players loved it–the random people hit by falling ducks were less impressed.
For less than fifty bucks, you’ll be able to pick this up later this year, and, since the previous version of the game sold in Walmarts and Canadian Tires across the continent, it should be easy to find. Sadly, you’ll have to supply your own laughing dog for every shot you miss.
Interactive Toy was also proud of their prototype for indoor skeet shooting. This system combines your trusty infrared pistol with as toaster-like contraption that shoots three disks up into the air (as high as eight feet, but it can be set for lower). If you “hit” a disk, it will break in two with a satisfying pop and clatter. Click a dead disk back together and you’re good to go again. Should you not have a friend to fly that duck around, this ain’t a bad way to kill many an hour practicing your aim in your living room.
