Amazon Turns Back on Blippy

A couple weeks ago we told you about Blippy, the service which allows you to stream your purchases online for everyone to see. The service had been working with Amazon, iTunes and Woot. Well, not anymore. Amazon is now asking the service to stop pulling user data.Blippy co-founder Philip Kaplan has told TechCrunch he was summoned to Seattle to speak with a “high ranking executive” within Amazon. During the meeting he was asked to stop pursuing data. But Kaplan isn’t giving up hope, telling TechCrunch “We believe our users feel strongly, as we do, that it is their right to access and use their data however they want. We’re optimistic that Amazon will come to the same conclusion.”
Thirteen other companies are still giving Blippy access to user data. Makes you wonder if others will follow Amazon’s lead.
