Steve Jobs has just revealed the latest version of it’s mobile operating system iOS 4.1 and it has a few new features sure to please.

The first thing it does it fix a number of bugs in the current iOS 4.0. The problem some users experience with their proximity sensor (yes I’m one of them) will supposedly be fixed along with Bluetooth issues. But enough with the bug fixes. What are the new features?!

In terms of new features we have HDR, which stands for High Dynamic Range Photo. Jobs says this feature will be used in all future Apple products which contain a camera. HDR ensures your photos look nice. Instead of just snapping one photo, HDR snaps three pictures, one normal, one over-exposed and one under-exposed. It will then combine all three to create the perfect picture. As a backup, your device will still store a copy of the original photo so you can pick between the two photos.

Although HDR is the biggest feature of iOS 4.1 there are a few others. Apple is now allowing HD videos to be uploaded via WiFi. TV show rentals will also be offered as an option as well as GameCenter, which allows gamers to play their favourite multiplayer games against their friends. Or if they don’t have any, it will find some for them. How nice.

Apple’s iOS 4.1 releases free of charge via iTunes next week.
