BlackBerry App World now open for business
BlackBerry users, your day has arrived. Now you too can download Apps to your phone as RIM launches BlackBerry App World.
Users can either download software straight to their BlackBerry or use the desktop software available on RIM’s website to get access to the store. One you’re in just select the App you want, and you’re good to go.
Right now there are a couple hundred Apps to choose from. Some are free but most of them must be paid for. The most expensive App we have found is $199. Most of the Apps right now are games but you can download a number other useful ones as well.
BlackBerry App World is only available in the U.S. Canada, and the U.K. right now.
We tried the App store using a BlackBerry Curve on the Edge network (not 3G) and we must admit it was quite slow loading pages and Apps. The official website also seems to be slow this morning as people check it out.
Have you tried it out yet? What do you think?
