Blackberry Saves Skier's Life

A Blackberry can do many things. Check email, take pictures, provide gps info. But did you know it can also save your life?

52 year-old David Fitzherbert of the U.K. was skiing down a glacier in the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa peaks in Switzerland when the snow gave way. Fithzherbert began to fall down a 700 foot Crevice. Then, all of a sudden he stopped! In one spot the crevice narrowed and he became stuck like a cork in a bottle. The extra thickness of his Blackberry was just enough for Fitzherbert to get lodged, ultimately saving his life.

Fitzherbert’s mountain guide was able to call for help and he was air lifted off the mountain.

The moral of the story? Thinner, sleeker Blackberrys are so overrated.
