Microsoft has just announced a brand new controller for the Xbox 360. At first glance it looks roughly the same as previous versions, but take a close look at the A, B, X, Y buttons. The red, green, yellow and blue colours are gone, replaced with grey monochrome. The analog sticks are also now more concave, another small upgrade. But the biggest improvement has to be the D-Pad.

Microsoft claims many Xbox 360 users complained the D-Pad was awkward to use. So the engineers in Redmond developed a new one. A twist of the D pad will make the plus pop up giving the disc some dimension. Take a look at the picture below.

The new controller will only be available in new Play & Charge Kit starting starting in November in the US. The cost? $69 US.

So, what do you think of the new design?
