Chatroulette – The Latest Internet Fad

If there’s a buzz word online right now it has to be Chatroulette, the creepy yet somewhat addictive website that hooks you up to chat with a complete stranger.

Here’s how it works. You go to the Chatroulette website, hit connect and you randomly get hooked up with a stranger. Of course the idea is you both have a webcam so you can see and hear each other.

Part of the excitement about the website is you never know who you will get connected with. A University of Calgary student ended up chatting with Ashton Kutcher this week. In fact a lot of celebrities are hopping online to randomly chat with strangers.

Of course Chatroulette is also creating its own “unique” celebrities. Take Cat Man for example shown on the left. He has appeared in numerous conversations. Then there’s the Bear man, who has the head of a teddy bear. Blog posts are popping up all over with links to funny Chatroulette experiences.
