• Circuit City offloads consoles stuffed with your credit card numbers, homemade porn

When Circuit City folded up shop, they still had quite of stock of traded-in consoles like the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. A tipster, working for a small refurbishment centre who bought up some of those consoles, found that all manner of data had been left on the consoles. That means when they booted up the machines, any and all sensitive info that had been left on the machines was available. That included friend lists, videos and pictures, but they also found some juicier content along the lines of homemade porno, credit card info and, really, whatever else you put on your machine.

Now you can blame Circuit City for not wiping these hard drives before selling them to a third-party, but ultimately the fault comes down to the people trading in their consoles without deleting their private stash, as it were. Watch your back Jack!
