Dead Space 2 officially announced

Can we hear a Woot! Woot! One day after a mysterious image appears on EA’s new Twitter account hinting at a possible sequel to Dead Space, the company goes ahead and makes it official. Dead Space 2 is coming!

EA has issued a release announcing the followup to the award winning game, along with a few hints. Here’s what EA is saying about the new title:

Hero Isaac Clarke returns for another heart-pounding adventure, taking the fight to the Necromorphs in this thrilling action-horror experience. New tools to gruesomely slice and dismember the Necromorphs complement Isaac’s signature Plasma Cutter, empowering him as he meets new characters, explores epic Zero-G environments, and fights against a relentless necromorph onslaught. Survival isn’t the only thing on Isaac’s mind in Dead Space 2 – this time, he calls the shots.

It appears EA is playing its cards close to their chest by not giving away too many details. Still, it’s hard not to get excited about this one!
