gameflyRenting a video game and having it delivered right to your door sounds like an ideal concept. Unless of course the games arrive damaged or don’t show up at all. And that’s the beef online video game rental giant GameFly has with the United States Postal Service.

GameFly has now filed an official complaint with the USPS regarding the amount of damaged games. The company says 1% of all games sent through the mail end up becoming damaged. Not a bad number right? Well when you ship out hundreds of thousands of copies, it adds up! You also have to consider theft. So far 19 USPS employees have been charged with theft for swiping GameFly discs before they reach their destination.

GameFly has made its own attempts to reduce the breakage rate by testing out new cardboard protectors and larger mailers. It hasn’t seemed to help. Maybe they should stop sending out games in envelopes marker with the company’s logo.
