The principle of applying heat to a moscito bite is an “old hat”
People that are familiar with the conditions of the african bush and the african outdoor’s will know that in “olden times” one treated the itching of a mossi bite with a teaspoon heated in ones coffe whilst sitting in front of a camp/cooking fire! The spoon heated by the boiling hot coffe is pressed onto the itching and within minutes the itching dissapears! The same principle is applied by scuba divers if they come into contact with one of these nasty jellyfish. There warm to hot water to rinse or flush the sting of jellyfish is used in much the same way.
In recent time the “BiteCure” a german invention has been developed. The principle is much the same as the hot water or coffe hot spoon – Thanks to modern micro electronic one now has the benefit to ajust the actual heat into sensitive or not modes.
It workes verry well and we use the BITECURE now for years. Never had an issue!
What the BITECURE does not do is – prevention of a bite/sting!
We do have nasty illnessnes that are transmitted by mossie bites like malaria!
One should keep the mosquits away from the body all together – Malaria can not be treated with a hot spoon! So one is still required to add repellent!
But the principle workes and must be really good in areas where there is no malaria or any other of these nasty moscito born illnesses!

I’d rather use natural insect repellents like citronella candles of patches. Preventing mosquito bites is much better.

Yeah, those candles and patches do not work. stupid
