internet-40th_01That’s right! This thing that you’re using right now has been around for 40 frickin’ years! How the time has passed… from those fledgling days at UCLA when there was only one other computer to talk to, to the days when the U.S. military and AT&T helped spread your wings, to your adolescence when people were first introduced to the joys and pitfalls of email. Now, in your teenage years, we have to deal with your tantrums in the form of Nigerian princes, viruses, data-mining and dot-com bankruptcies. But we also have YouTube, Facebook, Smartphones and information on-demand, so it’s not all a bad thing.

The man who started it all and the ‘father’ of the internet, Professor Leonard Kleinrock, spoke at UCLA today. “The Internet is a democratizing element; everyone has an equivalent voice,” Kleinrock said. “There is no way back at this point. We can’t turn it off. The Internet Age is here.”

“The next step is to move it into the real world,” Kleinrock said. “The Internet will be present everywhere. I will walk into a room and it will know I am there. It will talk back to me.”

Visionary words from a pioneer that has made the world what it is today. Professor Kleinrock, we salute you.

    Now… on to the porn!
