iPhone Security To Be Patched By Weekend

The BBC is reporting the security hole revealed by security expert Charlie Miller at Black Hat Thursday will be fixed by the weekend. UK carrier O2 claims a patch will be made available through iTunes as early as Saturday. It’s not clear if the patch will be made available elsewhere just yet.

What we still don’t understand is why Apple still remains silent about the SMS vulnerability that allows someone to hijack your iPhone.  Apple never acknowledged publicly there was a problem, and it sure as heck isn’t acknowledging a fix either.

Miller also noted Windows Mobile and Android operating systems also have security flaws. Google says it has already implemented a fix.
