• Is An Apocalypse Now Game In The Works?

Killspace Entertainment is dropping hints that the Francis Ford Coppolla classic Apocalypse Now may be one of the new studio’s first games.

In January, the developer licensed the web domains of apocalypsenowgame.com and warisnotagame.net. We also know that Killspace is working on one original title and one licensed asset–a major movie that starred Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando, perhaps?

Killspace is made of ex-folks from Obsidian, Pandemic, and EALA. The fledgling studio certainly has a challenge on its hands if it is taking on Apocalypse Now. Will the game be just a dark military action game set in the Vietnam War, or will it draw from the complicated psychological themes of the movie and its source material Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness? As a fan of both movie and book, I’d love to see something that goes beyond a military tactics shooter. I’d also like to see Sheen reprise his role, but he may be too busy as the Illusive Man.
