    Pets Cat Cams

You close the door behind you on your way to work, but before you leave the house, your eye catches a twitching tail perched over the sofa. He’s watching you… After that door slams and you march to the car, you can’t help but think to yourself, “What the hell does that cat do all day?”. Now we know a little more about kitty-cat social schedules thanks to 50 housecats and their cat cams.

According to an animal behavioural scientist working for Purina, cats don’t sleep away the entire day like most of us think. The cat cams took a photo every 15 minutes, detailing what each kitty was up to and where they were in the house. The number one activity? Staring out the window. But if you’ve ever lived or visited with a cat, you probably already knew that. 22 percent of a cat’s time was spent staring at the outside world, 12 percent of the time they were interacting with other pets in the house and 8 percent was climbing stairs or play structures.

Oddly enough, 6 percent of the time, your cat is watching television, computer screens or DVDs. That’s a whole new market opening up to Blu-Ray. And another 6 percent was spent doing what else? Hiding under tables. And we all know what happens after that. It’s been more than once I’ve caught a feline claw right in the ankle for no good reason other than to scare the shit out of me.
