Microsoft Pulls Plug on Xbox Live Service for Original Xbox

Microsoft is about to end an era. On April 15th the Xbox Live service will be cut off for those who own an original Xbox console. It will also be game over for those playing Xbox 1 games on an Xbox 360.“I want to start by saying this isn’t a decision we made lightly,” Xbox Live general manager Marc Whitten said in a letter to Xbox Live members, “but after careful consideration, it is clear that this will provide the greatest benefit to the Xbox Live community.”
Whitten says the move was done to further enhance the service. A number of upcoming features on the Xbox Live service are not compatible with older Xbox consoles, so the plug had to be pulled.
