You’ve heard about it, now you can try it for yourself. A couple of days ago Microsoft announced to the world Bing, it’s new search engine. Now the engine has gone into preview mode, meaning you can try it out.

At first glance you have to admit it looks very similar to Google. It has the familiar web, videos, images, maps, and news tabs, yet it looks much nicer than Google. But as we all know there is much more to a search engine than looks.

One interesting feature we’ve been able to dig up is Xrank. This category shows you what other people are searching right now, and what’s hot online. Apparently Eminem is number one on the search engine this morning after getting “bare assed” by “Bruno” at last night’s MTV Movie Awards. Bing also displays related topics along the left side of the screen. For example when you check out Eminem on Xrank, you can see a list of songs, lyrics and interviews. Interesting feature.

There appears to be a lot more to this search engine. We still haven’t found the “themed” searches Microsoft was talking about (Travel, local, etc). They must be buried in there somewhere.

Have you tried out Microsoft’s new “Decision Engine”? What do you think?
