mythbustersThe bang was bigger than anyone intended.  A “MythBusters” shoot in California shattered dozens of windows in peoples homes one mile away from the test site.

The hosts were in Yolo County, testing the myth that you could actually “knock the socks off” someone. To do it, they set up a  mannequin and ignited 500 pounds of ammonium nitrate. Kaboom!

Apparently the local fire department was on hand to make sure the explosion was contained, but made the decision not to notify the nearby town because of the shows popularity.

“MythBusters is supposed to be a really popular show. Everybody would have been out there. We would have had to cancel it because it would have been too dangerous,” said chief Barry Burns, of Esparto Fire Department.

So was the myth exposed? Guess we’ll have to wait until the episode airs.
