Employers around the globe are starting the big crackdown on “Tweeting” at work. Often dubbed as the new Facebook, Twitter can suck away hours of your day, when you should be working. Avoid the dirty looks by disguising Twitter to look like an Excel spreadsheet.

British web developer, Elliott Kember, has just released a new desktop application he calls SpreadTweet. Twitter still functions as normal, only now the interface looks just like Excel, so you can “Tweet” away and not get caught. You can make SpreadTweet look like Office OSX, Office 2003, and Office 2007, so it should match the App commonly used in your office.

The nice part about the application is how clean it is. Each Tweet is inserted into it’s own “Excel” line so it’s easy to read and follow.

SpreadTweet works on PC or Mac. You will need Adobe AIR to run the app (can download it free online).
