New Metroid to focus on Samus Aran’s Human Side

We don’t know a lot about Nintendo’s upcoming Metroid game. Since showing off a teaser treailer at last year’s E3, the company has been tight lipped about the project. Even a recent interview with Metroid co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto in Famitsu magazine seemed to do little to lift off the veil of secrecy, other than to say the game will take a look at Samus Aran’s ‘human side’.“She’s a strong woman, but she also has a fragile side. We want to make a game whose charms can be felt from the story areas and these human touches as well.” said Sakamoto.
The game dubbed Metroid: Other M, is being developed by three separate companies. Nintendo and Team Ninja will handle the action parts while D-Rockets will handle the title’s movie sequences.
“This Metroid is being developed with the aim of the ideal form of the old Metroid,” said Sakamoto. “It’s a game that can be realized because of the Wii.”
