Nintendo has now made it official: it’s new 3D handheld will hit Japan on February 26th 2011, coming to North America shortly after in March.

Like the Nintendo DS, the 3DS  features two screens. However, the new handheld will feature a top screen capable of displaying 3D graphics without the use of 3D glasses. We’ve see it ourselves and have to say it looks pretty good. Besides 3D capabilities, another cool feature is the ability for the 3DS to automatically create a Mii just by scanning your face with the built-in camera.

Overseas the Nntendo 3Ds will retail for approx for ¥25,000 (about $298). Nintendo has not released a North American price point as of yet.
