iphone_dsWhoa! We can’t believe our eyes or ears. Nintendo is admitting the iPhone is becoming serious competition for the DS!

Today Nintendo reported it’s latest operating profit which showed a 66% decrease in revenue because of  the “slowing demand for its Wii console and a stronger yen.” Don’t worry Nintendo still expects to sell 26 million Wii’s by years end. But the bigger shock was the admission the DS is not the only game in town. In fact the company stated DS sales are declining due to “increased competition in the handheld business from Apple’s iPhone.”

This marks the first time someone other than Apple has declared the iPhone as a true gaming platform.
