Onlive Cloud Gaming Service Still Alive

While we haven’t heard much from Onlive lately, the company is still working hard to bring it’s service to the market. The the “cloud-based” gaming service has just secured more funding, this time from AT&T Media Holdings Inc and Lauder Partners.

Onlive is staying silent as to how much the funding is worth, but founder and Chief Executive Steve Perlman said it was a “large investment at a large valuation,” especially for a company that is still to take a dollar of revenue.

Onlive will provide gamers with a “cloud” gaming experience with no need for consoles or expensive computer equipment. Games will run off of servers and will stream live to your home in exchange for a subscription. The company is still anticipating a winter launch in the U.S. No word on a launch in Canada or elsewhere in the world.
