Palm Pre 2nd Most Popular Smartphone…at Least in Consumer Minds

Well Palm has done it. Despite Apple’s stronghold on the market, the struggling company has the second most popular smartphone in the US….at least in customers minds.

Market research firm Interpret conducted a survey of smartphone users asking them to rank how successful different smartphones were in the market. Although they were given a wide range of choices, consumers felt Apple’s iPhone 3Gs came in first, followed by Palm’s Pre.

Of course this is only what consumers thought, and do not reflect real statistics. Palm has a ways to go before it reaches 2nd place. Still, it’s an accomplishment and a ray of hope for Palm.
