• Pay A Further $10 To Play Your Used Game With Others

Yesterday, we reported that gamers love used games. Unfortunately, that doesn’t sit well with video game companies because none of that money comes to them. However, EA thinks it’s discovered a way to make money from used games.

Starting with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, those wanting to get some multiplayer action will have to shell out for an Online Pass. If you buy a new game, naturally it comes with a free pass. But those who’ve bought a used copy can buy an Online Pass for $10 or a free 7-day trial.

Expect to see this pass in NCAA Football 11, NHL 11, Madden NFL 11, NBA 11, FIFA 11, and EA Sports MMA.

But who is suprised by this? New copies of Mass Effect 2 shipped with free access to the Cerberus Network, a conduit for free DLC. Those who bought used copies had to pay $15 to access the free missions, weapons, and armour.
