The game that taught me that I too could learn to be a cube-loving android motivated by cake and spurned by science will be back in full. And this time it’ll have co-op!

Announced through the release of the latest cover of Game Informer (above) and some details on Gamestop’s site, a “full-fledged, stand alone” Portal 2 will be with us on October 26, 2010. Here’s all we know about the new game according to the game retailer:

Coming this holiday. Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007′s Game of the Year and draws from the award-winning formula of innovative game play, story, and music that earned the original over 70 industry accolades. Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

Ah, but will there be more music from Jonathan Coulton? Still Alive has become a regular on our Rock Band playlist. Here’s hoping the Portal sequel can add to that.
