Postal Employee Steals 3012 Netflix DVDs

Someone likes movies! A lot! A United States Postal Service employee had pled guilty to charges of theft after admitting he lifted more than 3000 DVDs from online DVD rental service Netflix.

Myles Weathers, who worked at a mail processing and distribution center in Springfield, Massachusetts, allegedly swiped the discs as they came through plant last year. Netflix eventually became curious as to why so many DVDs were being lost in the mail, and demanded an investigation. Surveillance video showed Weathers ripping open envelopes and sticking DVDs in his backpack.

The DVDs have been valued at $36,471. Weathers  faces a maximum of five years in prison. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on December 23.
