• PS3 Homebrew Hits the Web

You knew it was only a matter of time. On the same day the infamous PSJailbreak USB key is set to ship to online retailers, a new cheaper version of the Playstation 3 hack has surfaced online.

PSGroove is an open source implementation of the PS Jailbreak exploit. The software, which can be downloaded for free online, must be installed to a AT90USBkey ($30) or a Teensy++ USB development board ($25). This will enable the backup manager on any PS3 whether it’s the old fat model or the newer PS3 slim.

There is one important note to mention. This version does not support the running of backups, rather it’s only intended to allow the execution of legal, third-party homebrew applications. Give it a few days and the hackers will find a way to make that possible too!
