A movement is starting north of the border, encouraging all to log off of Facebook for good. May 31st has officially become Quit Facebook Day.

The idea was the brainchild of Canadians Joseph Dee and Matthew Milan. The Toronto duo launched www.quitfacebookday.com several weeks ago to announce their plans to leave the site. The duo is concerned with how Facebook manages the personal data of its more than 400 million users, including 15 million in Canada.

The website has a running tally of how many people have confirmed they will be signing out of the social networking site for good. It’s now closing in on 30,000 people.

Last week Facebook announced a single-click option for users to determine whether they’ll share their information with friends or with everyone.

Are you ready to quit Facebook? Who’s going to look after all of those farms!?
