• RD-D2 Is Not Steam Powered, He’s A Humdifier

Oh, George Lucas. I despise your constant tinkering with the original trilogy. And let’s not talk about the prequels. However, the new Star Wars merchandise that shows up at Think Geek is increasingly delightful. I’m almost 30 years old and I’m looking for excuses to buy the Tauntaun sleeping bag… and to have a sleepover. Now, I’m seriously considering purchasing the R2-D2 USB humidfier.

That’s right, folks. By taking the futuristic technology of moisture vaporators (but not their basic binary language) and adding it to your favourite astromech droid, we now have a robot able to soothe your dry nasal passages and chapped knuckles.

Just pop off his cute little head, pour in some water, and plug him into a USB port. Then BAM, some droid-infused humidity right at your desk.

Take a guess which country produced this lovable toy. That’s right: Japan.

So if your favourite scaly geek is having a birthday and he or she doesn’t loathe all things Star Wars yet, this may be the right gift. It’s just $19.99 USD.

Wound up here trying to find something totally else, but turned out to be a good read anyway, so I guess sometimes it’s ok that you can’t use a search engine properly.
