• Researchers Develop "Electronic Tongue"

    electronic_tongueFile this one under creepy. Researchers from the University of Illinois have unveiled what they are calling “the first practical ‘electronic tongue’ sensor”.

    Once the device, which is about the size of a credit card, is dipped into food sample, it can  determine the difference between 14 different artificial sweetners. The “tongue” will turn colors based on the type and quantity of sweetner present.

    Not sure how this is different then using something like litmus paper, but we’re assuming this is a good thing…we think. Still a bit weird though.
