Even the buildings look evil in Shaoxing

Symantec has named Shaoxing, China as the malware capital of the world.  The city earned the dubious title after the American company discovered almost 30% of “malicious” emails were sent from China. In fact, 21.3% came from the city of Shaoxing alone.

China isn’t the only country to blame for all that spam you receive in your inbox. While China was the source of 28.2% of global targeted attacks , Romania came in a close second with 21.1%. The United States came third, followed by Taiwan and then Britain, with 12% of attacks.

China has always been at the top of the list when it comes to cyber crimes, but up until recently hackers have been able to hide behind servers in Taiwan, resulting in skewed numbers.
