Sony drops PS2 price to $99

No joke... it's under a hundy.

This is the big announcement we’ve been waiting for? As of tomorrow, April 1st, Sony will drop the price of its legacy console from $129.99 to $99 in North America and Europe. This is good news for recession-laden gamers looking to get their hands on a console that plays DVDs and has a library of almost 1,900 games with more still on the way for the 10 year-old machine.

In what can be construed as a kind of cruel joke/April Fool’s prank, the only region not receiving a price cut is the U.K., in which Sony has “no plans to cut the price of the PS2”. Oh well… at least they still have the only house in the world that has a giant penis painted on the roof.
