• The Big Leak: Halo Reach Lands On Filesharing Queues

We posted last weekend that hackers have found a way to grab the newest installment of the Halo franchise. Now, using the exploit intended to allow legitimate reviewers to download the full game, some gamerz have bypassed Microsoft’s security protocols and even posted the game to filesharing sites such as Pirate Bay and others around the Net.

Microsoft has issued a terse statement, saying, “We are aware of claims being made regarding a security exploit related to Halo: Reach and are aggressively investigating the matter. We have no further details to share at this time.”

Bungie, developer of the title, offered a little more on the bReach, saying, “Posting to Discuss, Request, or Link To information or campaign spoilers from illegitimately obtained sources – including illegitimately obtained copies of Halo: Reach – before the game is officially released will be considered a leak and will be treated as such,”. Also posted to their online forums was, “The moderation team is doing their best, but if you want to stay 100 per cent spoiler free, our best advice is to ‘go dark’ by staying off all internet gaming forums until you have played through the game.”

Yeahokay. I’ll just stay off the internet for a month so I don’t accidentally see any info posted online. No problemo.

Either way, even if you have a hacked Xbox 360, there are a couple more tricks you’d have to pull off before getting the game to work properly. But you’ve got to hand it to them: those hackers sure are industrious.
