• The Good Ol’ Hockey Game Is Now in 3D

Canada, are you ready to experience Don Cherry’s suits in 3D? I know, scary.

Canadians will experience the first 3D broadcast of an NHL game on CBC’s Hockey Night In Canada. The event will feature Toronto Maple Leafs versus the Montreal Canadiens on Dec. 11.

For all you hosers out west, the Heritage Classic on Feb. 20 will also be broadcast in 3D. The Heritage Classic is where a bunch of rabid hockey fans sit outside in -20C weather in a football stadium to see tiny hockey players play live. This time it’s the Calgary Flames versus the Canadiens.

So are you going to pony up the money to buy a 3D TV to see, as one commenter on CBC’s story said, the Toronto Maple Leafs lose in more dimensions? I’m really hoping this is not as disastrous as the glowing puck fiasco when Fox first began broadcasting the game.
