TiVo teams up with Blockbuster

TiVo will soon allow users to download Blockbuster On Demand movies

TiVo has announced it will soon be offering Blockbuster’s On Demand content through Series2, Series3, HD and HD XL boxes. Not a lot of details have been released yet but it looks fairly straight forward. Download the movies you want to see to your TiVo…for a price of course.

This could be good news for TiVo. Blockbuster will be selling TiVo boxes in its stores, which could give it some good publicity and help the struggling company. True, TiVo is finally making money but it needs all the help it can get. Then again the future doesn’t look so rosie for Blockbuster either.

No date has been announced for the service. TiVo’s website only says “Coming Soon”

  I think netflix has already been doing this for some time. Blockbuster may be a little late to the party. I wonder if the downloadable films are edited for content like the ones you rent from Blockbuster?
