While it’s easy to think that, as a parent, you should have any and all freedoms allowed to you to preserve the safety of your child. But when does that overstep the boundaries of personal freedom? Best Buy is offering up a cheap solution to the dilemma of tracking down those rotten little kids, and hey! What are they doing at the arcade? (That’s where kids go these days… right?)

The Little Buddy retails for only $99.99, which is a far cry from the $200 – $500 they charge for most other GPS transceivers already on the market. The device, small enough for a backpack or lunchbox, uses cellular and GPS tech that can alert you on your PC or smartphone when the little bugger isn’t in the place they’re supposed to be… like school or at the race track.

On a side note… have you seen my car? It was parked right here a minute ago!

Update: “Only in the U.S.!” is a phrase that Canadians are getting tired of hearing.
