Unheard-Of Goldeneye Remake For Next Year?

The all-seeing eye of the internet has caught onto a juicy little rumor floating around: there could be a new Goldeneye right around the corner.

For those of us who fondly remember the outstanding gameplay that has yet to be copied properly and the 4-player mayhem that resulted from your nemesis getting to the rocket launcher first, this could be good news.

A recent online resume (now offline) posted for one Peck…Craig Peck, animator, listed some of his recent work and that included one entry titled ‘Goldeneye 2010 (Wii)’. The title was created in association with Eurocom, who made the followup ‘The World Is Not Enough’ for the N64 as well. The title was actually pretty good, but fell short of the impossibly high standard that Goldeneye set for it. They also worked on the ‘Quantum Of Solace’ tie-in on the PS2.

Is this a remake or an homage or what? I guess we’ll have to wait to see if anything shakes out over the next couple of months to really find out what’s behind the chatter. Goldeneye on the Wii? Could be pretty awesome if it’s done well.
