Could It Be? Online Multiplayer Mass Effect?

I think all us gamers, if we could, would take a time machine to the future where Mass Effect 3 is released and we all have a day off to play the hell out of it. But for now we’ll have to take the slow path to that glorious day. And we also have endure such rumours as this. Mass Effect 3 may have online multiplayer. That’s right, you could play with other Shepards.

A position in BioWare Montreal has popped up asking for a Multiplayer Programmer.

So what are they looking for?

“Multiplayer Programmers ensure the game engine and game systems work reliably and efficiently in a multiplayer environment, states the job requisition. “They work with both the front and back ends to take existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe.”

Possibly the most exciting line is “Hands-on experience working on multiplayer systems.”

So what do you think about a multiplayer in Mass Effect 3? I think if it’s implemented like Red Dead Redemption where your online character is separate from your story character, it could be fun. The only Shepard I really care about is my Shepard, the renegade galactic badass.
